PREMIUMBRANDS

Our Approach

Why I selected GoInstall.com for PremiumBrands, and how I think about building online businesses.

PremiumBrands.com brings together names I can see someone building a business around. GoInstall.com belongs here because it connects a familiar action with getting started. My interest is in the founder who sees that name and already knows the problem they want to solve. A useful domain can give that idea a clear address while the work of making it useful takes shape.

What I look for in a name

Before getting into logos or website designs, I want to know how a name sounds in an ordinary conversation. Can someone say it naturally? Would a customer know what to type after hearing it? Could the person building the business explain the offer in one sentence? These questions are simple, but they affect the choices that follow, from a product introduction to the address on a proposal.

GoInstall.com gives me a clear place to start that conversation. “Install” describes an action people already recognize, and “Go” makes it feel ready to begin. The name leaves the buyer room to decide which customer to serve. That room is useful when there is a real direction behind it. Choosing a particular audience is still one of the most important decisions a founder has to make.

My experience with Newswire.com

I acquired i-Newswire.com in 2007 and upgraded the business to Newswire.com in 2015. Moving to the shorter name gave the business a direct, pronounceable identity around its category. That experience is part of why I pay attention to names that people can understand and use comfortably. A domain becomes part of many small interactions as a business grows.

The business I helped build was acquired by Issuer Direct in 2022 in a transaction reported at $44 million. That was a business acquisition, with the company and its operations behind it. It informs my perspective on building and branding; it does not put a value on GoInstall.com or predict what another founder will achieve.

The part of that history relevant here is the relationship between the name and the work. A clearer identity is something a team can use across its website, conversations and customer relationships. The product, people and day-to-day decisions have to support it. When I consider a domain now, I think about the business someone might be comfortable putting behind it over time.

Why AI interests me

I believe AI is making it easier for more people to turn their knowledge into a first version of something useful. Someone who understands an industry can explore a website or a software idea without having every technical skill at the outset. That is an opportunity I find exciting, especially when the person building starts with a problem they know well.

For GoInstall.com, an early version could help a founder show what they mean and ask better questions. People can react to an actual screen or a sample record more easily than a broad description of a future platform. Their responses can change the idea before the founder commits to a larger build. The useful outcome is learning what deserves more work.

There is judgment involved at every step. A convincing demonstration still needs to be checked against how people actually work, what they will pay for and what the business can deliver. AI can help someone explore an idea, but it cannot make those decisions for them. My enthusiasm is for the extra opportunity to try, learn and improve.

The work behind PremiumBrands

PremiumBrands is where I offer these selected domains and start conversations with prospective buyers. OnlineBusiness.com is my strategy and development studio, supporting the broader work of building online businesses. The two have related roles, with PremiumBrands providing the place to explore and discuss this domain offering.

The domain page explains GoInstall.com and the acquisition scope. The Ideas section goes further into possible businesses, each with a different customer and a small first test. Those pages give buyers something concrete to consider while this note explains why I am interested in the connection between a name and the business that could follow.

Start a conversation

If GoInstall.com fits a direction you are considering, get in touch. Tell me a little about the company or idea and what interests you about the name. An existing team may have a defined use in mind; someone starting out may still be working through the possibilities. Either gives us a useful place to begin a conversation about the domain.
